Then we will determine the best next steps customized to your goals, needs, and fitness level. Either way, this is a great starting point and you will leave with some great advice. Expect to spend about 30 minutes at the gym. Most of all, your intro is a great way to determine if Archetype CrossFit is the right fit for you.

  • Come a few minutes before you appointment and make sure to check-in at our front desk

  • You will be greeted by one of our coaches who will then take you on a tour of the gym

  • Then, you’ll sit down and go over your fitness goals and areas of focus.

Frequently Asked Questions When Getting Started at ACF

You’ve got questions? We’ve got answers! We want everyone to feel prepared when they join ACF so they can tackle their fitness goals head on. Here are some of our most frequently asked questions.

  • Of course not! No matter where you are in your fitness journey, we have a program and coaching set up that will work with your fitness level, schedule, etc.

  • Every class starts with a thorough warm-up designed to wake up the muscles we’ll be working on that day in class.

    Each class includes a strength portion where you’ll focus on a weight lifting movement like squat, snatch, cleans, etc. or a skill foundational to CrossFit workouts such as pull-ups, handstand pushups, ring dips, etc.

    After the strength/skill portion of the class is complete, coaches will review the workout of the day (WOD) with the class and talk strategy. Workouts range from 5 - 20 minutes and typically have 3 - 5 movements you’ll repeat for a set number of rounds or as many rounds as you can complete in a designated time.

  • Unlike a big box gym with crowded workout stations or other group fitness classes that promise a “personal training” like approach, at ACF you will not get lost in the noise. Our coaches are trained to key in on your unique fitness goals, weaknesses, and strengths and help you become the most well rounded athlete you can be. Whether you want to lose weight, gain strength, or just learn how to workout, we’ve got you.

  • Results take time and consistency is key. If you’re a beginner, you can expect to see results in just about 30 days. For more experienced athletes with targeted goals, you can work closely with an ACF coach to tailor workouts, select weights and a rep scheme so you can start seeing results as soon as possible.

  • We recommend 2-4 classes/week for beginners. It may take a while for your body to get used to training at CrossFit’s intensity.

    Once you get over the beginner hump, try to make it to the gym 4-5 times/week to maintain and gain.

  • While we understand that this is tempting, CrossFit isn’t your typical workout class. Jumping in with no prior knowledge can be confusing, at best, and dangerous, at worst.

    We recommend, if you are brand new to CrossFit, to sign up for a No Sweat Intro to get started. There, you’ll meet with a coach, discuss your goals, and go over the basics of CrossFit movements and exercises.

  • Yes! We offer a selection of protein and energy drinks for purchase as well as protein bars for a pre or post workout snack.

  • Of course! Visitors are always welcome at ACF, we only ask that if you are going to drop in that you have a minimum of 3 months CrossFit experience and are an active member of an affiliate.
