Visiting Chicago? Drop In or Sign Up for a Week Pass

Archetype offers seasoned CrossFit athletes the opportunity to drop in for a class when visiting Chicago from out of town. Whether it’s for work or play, make ACF your gym home away from home. Details about how to sign up and drop-in prerequisites are listed below.

How to Sign Up for a Drop In

Signing up for a drop in is simple. Just follow these steps below and we’ll see in class!

  • Choose between a single drop in or a week pass below.

  • Register online with your contact details.

  • We’ll show you the schedule, so you know when to arrive.

  • Arrive a few minutes before and check-in digitally at our front desk.

  • Introduce yourself to the coach and jump into a class!

Prerequisites for Dropping In at ACF

We want to make sure everyone is set up for success when they drop in at ACF, so we have a few prerequisites athletes must meet in order to come to a class.

  • Athletes must have a minimum of 3 months of CrossFit experience.

  • Athletes must be an active member of a CrossFit affiliate.

Conveniently Located 10 Minutes North of the Loop

New to Chicago? Archetype CrossFit is located in Lake View, a small neighborhood just north of Lincoln Park and about 10 minutes from downtown. You can take a cab, rideshare, or public transit up to our location on Broadway. If you’re driving, you will have to find street parking as we do not have a parking lot.

  • Of course! Visitors are always welcome at ACF, we only ask that if you are going to drop in that you have a minimum of 3 months CrossFit experience and are an active member of an affiliate.

    A one-time drop in is $30. Sign up here!

  • We do! If you’re in town for a week or more, we recommend buying a week pass which is $90.

  • While we understand that this is tempting, CrossFit isn’t your typical workout class. Jumping in with no prior knowledge can be confusing, at best, and dangerous, at worst.

    We recommend, if you are brand new to CrossFit, to sign up for a No Sweat Intro to get started. There, you’ll meet with a coach, discuss your goals, and go over the basics of CrossFit movements and exercises.

  • Every class starts with a thorough warm-up designed to wake up the muscles we’ll be working on that day in class.

    Each class includes a strength portion where you’ll focus on a weight lifting movement like squat, snatch, cleans, etc. or a skill foundational to CrossFit workouts such as pull-ups, handstand pushups, ring dips, etc.

    After the strength/skill portion of the class is complete, coaches will review the workout of the day (WOD) with the class and talk strategy. Workouts range from 5 - 20 minutes and typically have 3 - 5 movements you’ll repeat for a set number of rounds or as many rounds as you can complete in a designated time.

  • Unlike a big box gym with crowded workout stations or other group fitness classes that promise a “personal training” like approach, at ACF you will not get lost in the noise. Our coaches are trained to key in on your unique fitness goals, weaknesses, and strengths and help you become the most well rounded athlete you can be. Whether you want to lose weight, gain strength, or just learn how to workout, we’ve got you.

  • Yes! We offer a selection of protein and energy drinks for purchase as well as protein bars for a pre or post workout snack.
